FORIGN BODY NOSE – EAR

Young children often experiment with their bodies by putting foreign objects out of curiosity / copying other children / inhaling while trying to smell it

Symptoms – pain , nose block , nasal discharge, ear discharge, bad odor, bloody nose, whistling sound heared while breathing.

Don’t attempt removal at home you might end up pushing further up nose / ear Treatment is prompt removal. We here at Sagar ENT use special instruments / equipment to grasp/ scoop the foreign body. In some cases taking child to operating room to remove object while child is asleep may be necessary.

In case of concerns like the object being button battery bring your child as soon as possible because its an emergency

Foreign body bronchus

Foreign body inhalation, accidental aspiration may cause breathing problems, noisy breathing, lung collapse

Treatment involves prompt removal of foreign body. It is an emergency procedure.

Usually done under aneasthesia in operating room using advanced instruments under endoscopic guidance.
